Tesla has launched production of its Optimus humanoid robot at the Fremont facility in California. The company confirmed that these units represent the first production-quality bots manufactured by the firm, validating the current assembly process for commercial use.

Despite the progress in robotics, Tesla reported a 43% decline in net income for the third quarter, dropping to $787 million from $1.37 billion in the same period of 2025. The company attributed this profit decrease to high expenditures on AI projects and the Optimus program.

Total revenue for the quarter reached $28.04 billion, slightly below the $28.09 billion recorded in the third quarter of 2025. EV sales remained flat at $20 billion, with 486 532 vehicles delivered during the period.

The energy storage and solar business saw a 16% year-over-year decline, generating $2.8 billion due to tariff-related refunds. Conversely, the services segment, which includes Full Self-Driving subscriptions, grew by 33% to $4.6 billion.
