London-based startup Epoch has secured $4.25 million in a seed funding round led by Burnt Island Ventures and Sand River. This investment brings the company's total funding to $6.26 million. The capital is earmarked for product development, infrastructure expansion, and growing the commercial team.

Founded in 2023 by former Ripple employee Jinal Surti and CTO William Ouellette, the company provides a data layer for supply chains. It uses geospatial AI and software agents to map the origin of raw materials, such as cocoa, coffee, and rubber, to help importers comply with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

The platform generates due diligence statements for submission to the EU TRACES system. Earlier this month, Epoch launched a self-serve product for small and medium-sized businesses. The service integrates with assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, while keeping sensitive business data within the user's environment.

The EUDR requires companies to prove that products like cattle, soy, and wood are deforestation-free and legally produced. These rules apply to large and medium operators starting December 30, 2026, and to micro and small operators from June 30, 2027. Epoch currently employs a team of 14 people.
