The Moscow-based company Steplife has launched a full-cycle production facility for high-tech carbon fiber prosthetic feet. The new site, located in the eastern part of the city, allows the company to manufacture all key components internally, moving away from reliance on external partners, including those based outside of Russia.

The facility features an autoclave production line for composite parts and a dedicated section for high-precision turning and milling of titanium, steel, and aluminum components. According to Anatoly Garbuzov, head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, the plant is expected to produce up to 10,000 prosthetic feet annually, alongside up to 1,000 bionic prostheses and knee modules.

This expansion is part of a broader trend in the Moscow medical industry, which reported a 16.8% increase in the production of medical equipment and instruments during the first half of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. Steplife CEO Ivan Khudyakov noted that the new infrastructure is essential for scaling output and achieving full localization of the manufacturing process.
