Stellantis has hired more than 2,000 engineers to address ongoing quality issues across its vehicle lineup. CEO Antonio Filosa announced the creation of nearly 50 quality war rooms, where engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams collaborate to resolve component and system defects.
The company aims to reach the first quartile in quality rankings across all segments and markets by 2028. Filosa expects to see significant improvements in vehicle quality over the next two years.
Recent data from the JD Power Initial Quality Study shows that Stellantis brands are performing below the industry average of 175 problems per 100 vehicles. Specifically, Jeep recorded 182, Ram 222, and Chrysler 229 problems per 100 vehicles.
The Dodge Charger Daytona has faced customer reports regarding panel alignment, trunk and door faults, and seat issues. These quality concerns have prompted the company to prioritize rapid fixes for critical systems.
