Spotify has launched its Taste Profile tool in the United States, allowing users to manually adjust their recommendation algorithms. The feature, powered by AI, enables listeners to request more variety or modify the frequency of specific genres, artists, or moods in their Home feed.
The tool is designed to help users filter out content that does not represent their core preferences, such as sleep sounds or music played by other family members on shared accounts. Changes made to the profile take effect on the app's Home page within a few hours.
First introduced by co-CEO Gustav Söderström at the SXSW conference in March, the feature was previously available only to users in New Zealand. The US rollout marks the tool's expansion into Spotify's largest market for traffic and revenue.
The feature is currently in beta and is available to listeners aged 18 and older. Spotify has not yet provided a specific timeline for a wider global release or a full public launch beyond the current testing phase.
