SpaceX has moved the Starship S40 spacecraft into its new GigaBay hangar. This vessel is notable for surviving its 13th test flight and spending over a month at sea before being recovered.

The GigaBay facility currently serves as a temporary storage area for the S40. This move helps clear space in the Mega Bay 2 facility, ensuring that the assembly of new Starship units can proceed without interruption.

Construction of the GigaBay hangar is ongoing and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. Full-scale operations involving flight-ready hardware have not yet commenced at this site.

Looking ahead, SpaceX has scheduled the 15th test flight of the Starship program for November 14. The mission profile includes 14 orbits around the Earth, followed by an attempt to catch the booster using the Mechazilla launch tower.
