SpaceX has secured agreements to equip approximately 12,000 aircraft with Starlink satellite internet. This figure represents about one-quarter of the global commercial fleet, excluding business jets, cargo planes, and light aviation.

The company has signed contracts with three of the four largest US airlines and is expanding its presence among major international carriers. Recent additions include Lufthansa, Swiss, Copa Airlines, Korean Air, Austrian Airlines, and Asiana Airlines, which launched flights with Starlink equipment in the last quarter.

To meet rising demand, SpaceX quadrupled its production rate for aviation hardware since the beginning of the year. The company plans to double this output again by the end of 2026 to accelerate installations and expand service coverage.

According to SpaceX, Starlink connectivity influences passenger choice, with aircraft featuring the system reporting higher occupancy rates. The service is utilized by both business travelers requiring constant access to work tools and general passengers.
