Sovereign wealth funds are requesting that Perplexity deploy its Computer agent platform on their own hardware. This setup aims to ensure full data sovereignty by keeping the entire system, including agent harnesses and control loops, isolated from the developer.

CEO Aravind Srinivas confirmed on October 12, 2026, that these clients require self-contained systems powered by fine-tuned open-weight models. Under this arrangement, Perplexity will have no access to user data and will receive no usage telemetry, which complicates product support and bug diagnostics.

Perplexity has been expanding its local computing capabilities. On August 25, 2026, the company launched Portable Computer, a system running on Nvidia DGX Spark hardware. Additionally, in September 2026, it introduced Hybrid Compute features for Apple silicon to process sensitive information locally.

The company established a strategic partnership with Nvidia in June 2025, targeting government and enterprise clients in Europe and the Middle East. It also initiated US federal partnerships in November 2025. No specific deal sizes or identities of the sovereign funds have been disclosed.
