South East Angels, founded by Kristina Pereckaite in 2020, has secured a £2 million investment from the British Business Bank. The funding is provided through the bank's Regional Angels Programme, which aims to support early-stage equity finance outside of London.

Since its inception, the angel group has grown to over 100 members who have collectively invested more than £7 million across 48 startups. Individual investments from the group typically range between £50,000 and £350,000. Notable portfolio companies include AutonoMe, Blue Skies Space, and EarSwitch.

The British Business Bank launched its Regional Angels Programme in 2019 with a total capital pool of £285 million. While the bank typically commits between £5 million and £15 million to partners, the current allocation to South East Angels is £2 million.

The group also operates the Future Angels initiative, which focuses on increasing female participation in angel investing. According to 2022 data, women accounted for 14% of angel investors in the UK. The second cohort for this program opened in May 2026.
