The upcoming Sony handheld console, currently codenamed Project Canis, is expected to feature a custom AMD chip. The processor configuration includes four Zen 6C cores and two Zen 6LP cores. The device is designed to operate with a TDP ranging between 15 and 25 watts.

The graphics unit is based on the RDNA 5 architecture and features 16 compute units. Depending on the operating mode, the GPU clock speeds are set at 1.2 GHz for handheld use and 1.65 GHz when docked. These settings result in a theoretical performance of 4.91 TFLOPS and 6.75 TFLOPS, respectively.

The console is equipped with 24 GB of LPDDR5X memory utilizing a 192-bit bus. The system is designed to render games at a native resolution of 540p, with upscaling to Full HD performed by the PSSR 3 technology. A dedicated AI block is included to support these upscaling processes.

Reports indicate that the device will support frame generation technology. Additionally, the console is expected to be capable of running games developed for the PlayStation 6 platform.
