Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced the expansion of its audio lineup with the new PlayStation Pulse and Pulse Edge wireless headsets. Both models utilize custom planar magnetic drivers and support the proprietary PlayStation Link wireless connection standard, designed for use with the PS5, PlayStation Portal, PC, and Mac.
The headsets feature AI-enhanced noise suppression for microphones and a rotatable ear cup design. Users can switch between compatible devices while maintaining a simultaneous Bluetooth connection. Each unit comes with a USB Type-C PlayStation Link adapter, building on the technology introduced in the 2024 Pulse Elite series.
The standard Pulse model features four magnets per driver, while the premium Pulse Edge model is equipped with eight magnets. The Pulse Edge further distinguishes itself with active noise cancellation, a detachable boom microphone, hidden microphones, and dedicated controls for volume and game-chat balance, along with a specialized storage case.
Sony has scheduled the release of the PlayStation Pulse for the 2026 holiday season, with the Pulse Edge expected to follow in early 2027. Both devices will be available in white and midnight black colorways. As of now, the company has not disclosed specific pricing, pre-order dates, or the full list of launch markets.
