Snap has updated its Specs AR glasses, significantly reducing the device's weight to 132 grams, or approximately 4.6 ounces. The previous prototype weighed around 8 ounces.
The new version of the headset features spring hinges and is available in two sizes, 47mm and 52mm, to improve fit and comfort for different users.
During testing, the updated device did not exhibit the heating issues reported with the earlier prototype. The glasses include spatial syncing technology for shared experiences.
Despite hardware improvements, the device currently retails for $2,200. Snap has not provided a clear definition of the product's primary use case, whether for productivity or entertainment.
