Sigma has unveiled the FP2, a modular full-frame mirrorless camera weighing 460 grams, making it the lightest in its class. The device features a 24.5-megapixel CMOS sensor, an L-Mount, and a 3.15-inch tilting display. It lacks built-in image stabilization and uses an electronic shutter with speeds up to 1/25600 s.
The camera supports 6K Open Gate video recording at up to 60 fps and 4K at 120 fps. It includes AI-based autofocus for object tracking, 70 GB of internal storage, and an SD UHS-II card slot. The battery life is rated for 370 shots or 130 minutes of video. Connectivity options include two USB Type-C ports and a full-size HDMI port.
Sales of the Sigma FP2 begin on November 11. The body-only price is $2199, while the kit with the EVF-21 electronic viewfinder costs $2749. The optional HU-21 adapter enables a hot shoe and 32-bit float audio recording.
Alongside the camera, Sigma introduced the 50mm f/1.4 CL DG Contemporary lens, part of the new I-series. It features a metal body, manual aperture control, and a new Rotary Direct Drive motor. The lens is expected to launch in early spring 2027, with pricing and specific availability yet to be determined.
