The Shvabe holding and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) have signed a partnership agreement to develop next-generation energy-efficient electronics and photonics. The collaboration aims to create processors, memory modules, and sensors with reduced power consumption.

The research will be conducted at the MIPT-based World-Class Scientific Center for Advanced Microelectronics. The primary focus involves studying functional materials, specifically structures with layers only a few atoms thick, to improve data processing and storage efficiency.

MIPT will lead fundamental research, including material synthesis and the creation of experimental prototypes. Shvabe will focus on adapting these technologies for industrial production and integrating them into real-world electronic devices.

This initiative builds upon existing cooperation between Shvabe subsidiaries and MIPT, which currently includes joint work through basic departments at NPO Orion and the Polyus Research Institute. The new agreement aims to scale these efforts toward specific microelectronics projects.
