Two pallets containing Zotac GeForce RTX 5090 graphics cards have disappeared at Guarulhos International Airport near Sao Paulo. The Brazilian distributor Oderco reported that the shipment, valued at approximately $470,000, arrived in the country but could not be retrieved.
The cargo arrived on September 20, with customs transit documentation approved by September 25. Despite this, the distributor was unable to claim the goods. Airport staff initially indicated a potential location for the pallets on October 6, but later confirmed they could not be located by October 14.
The airport operator, GRU Airport, has notified the relevant authorities and requested documentation from the distributor to initiate a compensation process. The exact number of units and specific models remain undisclosed, and there is currently no official confirmation of theft.
In the Brazilian retail market, individual GeForce RTX 5090 units are priced between BRL 33,000 and BRL 39,000, which is approximately $6,200 to $7,300. The disappearance occurs amid a global shortage of flagship Nvidia cards driven by high demand for artificial intelligence tasks.
