Nvidia and the German government have announced a strategic partnership to modernize the country's industrial sector through artificial intelligence. The agreement was formalized on October 19, 2026, during the Invest in Germany Summit in Berlin, which hosted approximately 200 business leaders.

Under the signed letter of intent, Nvidia will provide hardware, including its latest Blackwell GPUs, as well as software and engineering support. The German government is responsible for coordinating participating companies and providing project funding. Deutsche Telekom will operate the Industrial AI Cloud infrastructure.

The initiative aims to develop specialized, open AI models for industrial applications. Approximately a dozen German companies, including Siemens and Audi, are expected to participate. The project builds upon the Industrial AI Cloud framework launched by Deutsche Telekom and Nvidia in 2025.

Both parties have committed to maintaining data sovereignty by ensuring that data and applications remain within Germany. Chancellor Friedrich Merz, in office since May 6, 2025, views this collaboration as a strategic response to international competitive pressures.
