The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 console, priced at $519.99, sold out across major retailers including Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and Amazon shortly after preorders opened. The official Nintendo store also reports that the device is currently unavailable.
Resellers on eBay are listing the console for prices ranging from $700 to $1,700. Some listings include additional items such as a Pro Controller, a carrying case, and the Ocarina of Time remake, with asking prices for these bundles reaching up to $2,000.
The console is scheduled to ship on October 29, while the Ocarina of Time remake is set for release on November 5. Nintendo previously implemented a requirement of 50 hours of logged playtime to restrict scalpers on the original Switch 2, though no such rules were confirmed for this release.
The retail price of the special edition console is $20 higher than the base Switch 2 model, which costs $499.99. Consumers who missed the initial preorder window must wait for future stock updates to avoid paying secondary market prices.
