Samsung Electronics has unveiled details for its first clip-on earbuds, the Galaxy Buds On. The device is scheduled to launch in South Korea on October 27, available exclusively in black. The retail price is set at ₩299,000.
The open-ear design aims to improve comfort during extended use and allows users to remain aware of their surroundings. The earbuds feature the TwinBoost speaker system, which utilizes two identical bass drivers to address low-frequency performance issues common in clip-on models.
The device incorporates three microphones and a bone-conduction vibration sensor to enhance call quality in noisy environments using machine learning. It also includes an accelerometer that automatically detects which ear the device is placed in, eliminating the need for manual configuration.
The Galaxy Buds On supports Galaxy AI features, including voice-activated access to Gemini Live when paired with compatible smartphones or tablets. Users can control the device through head gestures, such as nodding to answer calls or shaking their heads to dismiss alarms.
Additional features include sound leakage suppression technology and a Quick Voice Memo function, which allows users to start recording by long-pressing the back of the earbud. The device also automatically adjusts volume levels based on ambient noise.
