Samsung Electronics has finalized plans with Samsung Display to integrate the new M16 OLED material into the screens of the upcoming Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra models. This material is already featured in the iPhone 18 Pro and Google Pixel 11 series, and will also appear in the upcoming iQOO 16.

The standard and Plus versions of the Galaxy S27 will transition to the M14 material, replacing the M13 technology used since the S24 series. This marks the first time in three years that Samsung has updated the display materials across its entire Galaxy S lineup. Samsung Display will remain the exclusive supplier for all panels.

The Galaxy S27 series is scheduled for release in the first quarter of next year. The lineup includes a 6.27-inch standard model, a 6.66-inch Plus version, a 6.47-inch Pro model, and a 6.89-inch Ultra variant. Following this update, Samsung plans to upgrade the display materials for the Galaxy Z9 foldable series in the second half of next year.
