Samsung's New Zealand division launched a marketing campaign for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 featuring a real estate agent named Tim Cook. The agent, who works for Harcourts in Palmerston North, appears in a video where he receives the new foldable device. The company uses this name coincidence to highlight its long-standing experience in the foldable smartphone market.

Samsung emphasizes that it has been developing foldable devices since 2019, contrasting its history with the recent launch of the iPhone Duo. The Galaxy Z Fold 8, released in July, features a 5.5-inch external screen and a 7.6-inch internal display. The device weighs 201 grams, which the manufacturer identifies as the lightest model in the Fold series.

The competing iPhone Duo also utilizes a 7.6-inch internal screen and a book-style folding design. However, the Apple device weighs 254 grams, making it heavier than the Samsung counterpart. The current advertising strategy focuses on the company's multi-year expertise in the category rather than direct technical comparisons of the two smartphones.
