Samsung Electronics will launch its new AI-powered smart glasses in mid-December. The initial release is limited to South Korea and the United States, allowing the company to gather user feedback before a wider rollout.

The device runs on Google's Android XR platform and utilizes the Gemini AI neural network. It features a camera and microphone for real-time translation, navigation, and document scanning, with data syncing directly to Galaxy smartphones.

The hardware is built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 processor and offers up to nine hours of battery life. The design was developed in collaboration with eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.

Samsung aims to compete with existing market leaders by integrating its AI solutions with the broader Galaxy ecosystem. The company previously used a similar limited-market strategy for its Galaxy XR headset launch.
