Salesforce has signed a definitive agreement to acquire AI customer research startup Listen Labs. While the companies did not disclose financial terms, reports indicate the deal is valued at approximately $2 billion. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of Salesforce’s fiscal 2027, subject to regulatory approval.
Listen Labs develops AI agents capable of conducting customer interviews, analyzing feedback, and simulating consumer behavior using digital twins. The platform utilizes a recruiting network of over 50 million participants and supports more than 120 languages. Salesforce plans to integrate this technology into its Marketing and Service Cloud offerings.
The startup was founded in January 2023 by Alfred Wahlforss and Florian Juengermann. Since its launch in April 2025, the company has secured clients including Microsoft, Anthropic, and Sweetgreen. The Listen Labs team will join Salesforce AI Labs following the completion of the acquisition.
Prior to the Salesforce deal, Listen Labs had raised a total of $100 million from investors. Its Series B round in January, led by Ribbit Capital, reportedly valued the company at $500 million. The startup previously turned down a $125 million funding round from Menlo Ventures that would have valued it at $1,5 billion.
