Salesforce has integrated Anthropic’s Claude as the default reasoning engine across its ecosystem, including Slack and Agentforce. The initiative, dubbed Claudeforce, was unveiled on August 26, 2026. This move follows a series of integrations that began in October 2025 and included connecting Slack context to Claude in February 2026.

The partnership involves a total financial commitment exceeding $600 million. This includes an equity stake in Anthropic valued at over $300 million and a planned expenditure of $300 million on Anthropic tokens throughout 2026. CEO Marc Benioff noted that Salesforce initially considered investing in OpenAI before choosing Anthropic.

Claudeforce features a Salesforce in Claude plugin equipped with 37 prebuilt skills for sales tasks like pipeline management and forecasting. The plugin entered pilot testing in August 2026, with an open beta scheduled for September. The system utilizes the Model Context Protocol to allow enterprise actions directly within the interface.

Salesforce reports that the implementation has generated 8.1 million hours of annualized productivity gains for its internal staff. A significant portion of the 2026 token budget is allocated to AI coding agents to enhance developer productivity.
