Russian Post has initiated a request for proposals to acquire 64 portable drone detection devices. The procurement, published on the Sberbank-AST platform on September 17, 2026, aims to protect employees operating in regions bordering combat zones.

The technical requirements specify that the devices must detect drones at a range of at least 1.2 kilometers. Each unit must weigh no more than 310 grams and feature a lithium battery with a capacity of at least 2100 mAh, providing a minimum of 5 hours of operation.

The devices are designed to alert personnel via sound, vibration, or light indicators upon detecting drone radio signals. The equipment package must include an antenna, power supply, USB cable, car charger, and a mounting clip. The units must function within a temperature range of -20 to +45 degrees Celsius.

This is the company's second attempt to procure such technology. A previous tender for drone detectors, which had a contract value of 2.7 ₽ million, was declared void in October 2025. Industry estimates suggest the current order could cost approximately 6.34 ₽ million.

In September 2026, the Russian government expanded the list of special equipment authorized for federal postal service employees to include technical means for countering unmanned aerial, underwater, and surface vehicles. This equipment is intended for staff guarding post offices or transporting funds.
