According to Kama Flow, the Russian AI market accessible to independent companies could exceed 561 ₽ billion by 2030. However, growth is constrained by a shortage of venture and private equity capital, with a projected annual funding gap of 84 ₽ billion.
The most significant segments include industrial AI at 88 ₽ billion, business process automation and agents at 78 ₽ billion, and MedTech at 70 ₽ billion. Other notable areas include financial solutions, sales support, and AI implementation, each contributing tens of billions of rubles.
In 2025, venture capital investment in Russian AI firms reached approximately $51 million, while corporate investment hit $2.65 billion. This results in a ratio of $52 in corporate spending for every $1 of venture funding, significantly higher than the global average of one to two.
Independent companies face high barriers in capital-intensive areas like fundamental models and hardware, which are dominated by state entities and large corporations. Consequently, private investment is shifting toward applied solutions in industry, medicine, and finance where business impact is measurable.
