The Russian developer Rucontext has launched an AI assistant named Contextum. The tool is integrated into the company's plagiarism detection platform and is designed to assist students, researchers, and authors with document formatting according to university and publisher standards.

Contextum supports various standards, including GOST R 7.0.100-2018, GOST R 7.0.5-2008, GOST R 7.0.108-2022, GOST 7.1-2003, as well as APA 7, Chicago, MLA, and IEEE. Users can also provide specific samples for custom formatting requirements.

The assistant handles technical tasks such as editing text, tables, formulas, and captions, as well as managing citations and bibliographies. It preserves document layout and creates new versions for every change, allowing users to revert actions or download previous iterations.

The tool includes an AI detector to ensure ethical use. It does not rewrite content to bypass plagiarism checks; instead, it suggests proper citation formatting. It also analyzes the structure of research papers, checking if objectives and conclusions align.

According to Maxim Dymkov, CEO of NCR Rukont, the service aims to reduce technical errors and streamline the workflow from draft to final publication. The assistant is currently available to all existing Rucontext platform users.
