Munich-based robotics startup RobCo has reached a valuation exceeding $1 billion following a secondary share sale announced on October 5, 2026. This figure represents a doubling of the company's value compared to the $500 million valuation recorded in January 2026.
The transaction involved the sale of shares worth $40 million, primarily conducted by employees to a group of new and existing investors. Among the new backers are Cherry Ventures and European Tech Collective, while Sequoia and Lightspeed participated as returning investors.
Unlike a primary funding round, this secondary sale allows existing shareholders to sell their stakes without issuing new shares. The company previously raised $100 million in a Series C round in January 2026, which established its prior valuation.
RobCo specializes in industrial automation and has deployed over 1,000 robots to clients, including BMW. According to PitchBook data, startups in the robotics and physical AI sector raised $33.4 billion in the first half of 2026, surpassing the total funding for the entire year of 2025.
