Ripple has launched a strategic partnership with CSD BR to integrate decentralized blockchain technology into Brazil's financial infrastructure. The project utilizes the XRP Ledger as a secondary layer for recording and auditing financial assets, while CSD BR maintains its existing systems for registration, deposit, and settlement.

The initial phase aims to evaluate the efficiency, transparency, and automation of blockchain in real-world conditions. Following successful validation, the companies intend to scale the use of the ledger for native asset issuance and trading among authorized participants, with potential plans to expand the model to other international markets.

Separately, Coinbase has urged Brazilian policymakers to establish a regulatory framework that supports stablecoin interoperability. The company expressed concern regarding potential reclassification of stablecoins as electronic money or foreign currency, which could trigger new taxation on crypto transactions.

The regulatory landscape in Brazil remains in flux ahead of general elections. Virtual asset service providers face an upcoming deadline for license applications, while the government has previously delayed controversial tax measures related to digital assets to maintain legal stability.
