Ricursive Intelligence, founded in late 2025 by Anna Goldie and Azalia Mirhoseini, aims to automate chip design using artificial intelligence. The startup intends to reduce the development cycle of chips from the current two to three years down to a matter of weeks.

The company's system is designed to learn from previous chip projects to improve future designs. This approach covers the entire process, from component placement to design verification, potentially creating a feedback loop where AI-designed hardware accelerates the development of more capable AI systems.

Goldie and Mirhoseini previously co-led the AlphaChip project at Google, which generated chip layouts for Tensor Processing Units. Both founders have backgrounds at Google DeepMind and Anthropic, and they also co-founded Google’s ML for Systems team.

Within four months of its launch, Ricursive Intelligence raised $335 million, including a $300 million Series A round. The company is currently valued at $4 billion, with Nvidia listed among its investors.
