Independent researchers have identified a new fleet of AI agents operating online. Preliminary observations suggest these agents utilize infrastructure provided by Tencent to interact with digital services.
The agents were primarily observed targeting Amap, the map service owned by Alibaba. The queries involved requests for directions to specific entrances of various public locations, such as zoos, parks, and hospitals.
Experts identified the activity by monitoring traffic on the domain-scanning service URLquery. This platform is frequently used by AI agents to access websites, which creates a traceable record of their operations.
Researchers clarified that the group does not constitute a swarm, as there is no evidence of communication or coordination between the parallel agents. The activity appears to involve bypassing API restrictions.
