Renault Group and Belgian electronics firm John Cockerill have announced a partnership to develop a new autonomous electric vehicle platform. The project, named Forefront, focuses on creating a modular ground vehicle capable of navigating complex terrain in high-risk environments.
The platform is designed for both military and civilian logistics. Renault aims to leverage its expertise in large-scale, cost-effective production, while John Cockerill provides specialized defense industry knowledge.
Currently, the Forefront project exists as a concept. The company plans to begin testing the first prototypes in upcoming exercises and trials to refine the vehicle's capabilities for future deployment.
