Regulatory filings have revealed the battery specifications for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The iPhone 18 Pro features a 3,988 mAh battery with 15.52 Wh of energy, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max is equipped with a 5,080 mAh battery, delivering 19.78 Wh of energy.
These figures represent an 11% increase for the Pro model compared to the 3,582 mAh capacity of the iPhone 17 Pro. The Pro Max model sees an 8.4% increase over the 4,685 mAh battery found in the iPhone 17 Pro Max, marking the first time an Apple smartphone has exceeded the 5,000 mAh threshold.
Apple has implemented an upgraded metal-cased battery cell technology to improve heat dissipation and structural rigidity. This design allows for higher energy density and better thermal management during intensive AI processing and fast charging, while also meeting regulatory repairability standards.
The increased battery capacity, combined with the A20 Pro chip and iOS 27 power management, extends battery life significantly. The iPhone 18 Pro now supports up to 30 hours of offline video playback, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max reaches 35 hours, setting a new benchmark for the company's flagship lineup.
