Reactive Technologies, a London-based firm specializing in grid-enhancing technologies, has secured €19 million in venture debt from the European Investment Bank. The funding is supported by the InvestEU programme and falls under the TechEU initiative, which aims to boost strategic technological development across Europe.
The company plans to allocate €7 million of the total financing toward research and development activities at its facility in Oulu, Finland. The remaining €12 million will be directed toward the deployment and expansion of its GridVerix platform across the European Union market.
GridVerix provides real-time measurements of grid stability, including inertia and voltage strength. These metrics assist operators in managing the complexities introduced by renewable energy sources and high-demand consumers, such as data centres, while reducing the need for energy curtailment.
Founded in 2010 by Dr. Heikki Huomo and CEO Marc Borrett, the company maintains a global presence. Beyond its London headquarters and Finnish R&D centre, Reactive Technologies operates commercial offices in the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and Australia to serve its international client base.
