At the 2026 Snapdragon Summit held on September 22 in Hawaii, Qualcomm officially introduced two new flagship mobile platforms: the 6th Gen Snapdragon 8 Elite and the 6th Gen Snapdragon 8 Ultra. The company positions the Ultra version as the world's fastest mobile CPU.
Qualcomm confirmed that a wide range of global smartphone manufacturers will be the first to integrate these new chips into their upcoming flagship devices. The list of partners includes Xiaomi, vivo, Red Magic, Redmi, OPPO, OnePlus, Motorola, iQOO, and Honor.
Chris Patrick, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mobile Handsets at Qualcomm, stated that the dual-platform strategy aims to support the evolution of agentic AI. This approach provides OEMs with greater flexibility to deliver personalized and adaptive AI experiences across a broader range of flagship products.
