The Fourth Law and Odd Systems have launched Project Foundation, a semiconductor initiative focused on mass-producing uncooled long-wave infrared sensors, also known as microbolometers. The project aims to quadruple thermal sensor production in Europe and double it in the United States within three years.

The initiative intends to supply sensors for drones, automotive, robotics, and industrial applications. Manufacturing will be supported by a network of partner foundry lines and dedicated facilities, with the first two sites, First Foundation and Second Foundation, planned for Europe and the US respectively.

Project Foundation is headquartered in Eindhoven. The project will be financed through investments from the founding companies, external equity, debt, grants, and customer pre-sales. Specific financing details will be disclosed following confirmation.

The project leverages the expertise of serial entrepreneur Yaroslav Azhnyuk and a team with 14 years of experience in camera development. Odd Systems previously developed the Kurbas thermal camera, which is currently used by over 70 drone manufacturers.
