Porsche has unveiled its latest Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system, which delivers up to five times the computing power of the previous generation. The upgrade is designed to improve system startup times, application loading speeds, and overall multitasking performance across the vehicle lineup.

The new interface, previously exclusive to the electric Cayenne, is now being rolled out to the 911, Taycan, Panamera, and combustion or hybrid Cayenne models. It features five customizable themes, interactive desktop widgets, and a 3D vehicle model that mirrors the owner's actual car configuration, allowing for direct adjustments to vehicle settings via the touchscreen.

The integrated AI voice assistant now utilizes a large language model, enabling it to process natural language, handle follow-up questions, and execute multi-step commands. Additionally, the updated Navigation Plus system provides 3D mapping and real-time traffic data, while the charging planner for electric models now accounts for battery preconditioning requirements.

The updated PCM system introduces native support for Apple Music via the Porsche App Center. It also enables Dolby Atmos spatial audio for compatible Bose and Burmester sound systems. The platform supports OTA software updates and offers improved smartphone connectivity for a more seamless user experience.

Porsche plans to integrate this new system into newly manufactured vehicles. The specific availability and feature set will vary depending on the model, regional market, and production date.
