Porsche has unveiled the Mission S concept, a new flagship sports car intended to sit above the 911 in the company's lineup. CEO Michael Leiters confirmed that the platform is designed with powertrain flexibility, which could allow for the inclusion of a manual transmission if there is sufficient customer demand.

The vehicle features a mid-engine layout and a design concept described as Floating Volumes. Exterior elements include an active rear wing, lightweight wheels, and cooling fans inspired by the historic 917 model. The interior departs from current trends by omitting large infotainment screens in favor of five round analog gauges and physical controls.

Porsche has not yet announced a production timeline, technical specifications, or pricing for the Mission S. The company stated that the final configuration of vehicles built on this new platform will be determined by future customer interest.
