Tesla plans to conduct demonstration flights for the new Roadster model using gas thrusters developed in collaboration with SpaceX. The company intends to showcase the vehicle performing short flights over natural landmarks, including the Grand Canyon and the Snake River, with the car landing on its wheels.
According to Elon Musk, the Roadster will be capable of reaching speeds exceeding 0.5 Mach, or approximately 612 km/h. This performance significantly surpasses the previously stated top speed of 370 km/h for the Thrust and Rocket versions. The vehicle is designed to execute maneuvers beyond the capabilities of standard cars.
During a recent presentation, Musk noted that the electric sports car will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph, which is 97 km/h, in less than one second. Furthermore, the car will be able to perform various stunts automatically in response to voice commands, utilizing its specialized propulsion system for complex aerial movements.
