Pinterest currently serves 600 million monthly active users and processes over 500 petabytes of data. To manage its AI infrastructure, the company utilizes Amazon Web Services, specifically Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service. The platform operates more than 10,000 EC2 G5 computing instances for real-time recommendations and over 600 specialized instances to train models on 18 terabytes of data daily.

The company's AI-driven system generates over 10 million recommendations per second. New tools include Pinterest Canvas, an AI model for high-resolution image editing, and an AI-powered voice assistant. Additionally, visual search tools built with Amazon SageMaker now recognize more than 2.5 billion objects in photos.

The platform reports a 17% year-over-year revenue growth and an 11% increase in monthly active users. Search fulfillment metrics improved by 230 basis points, and AI now powers approximately 70% of content discovery on the site. Pinterest plans to continue expanding its generative AI capabilities while maintaining its focus on user trust.
