Phase, a new blockchain project, has officially launched its mainnet. The platform enables smartphone users to earn tokens by validating network blocks and sharing their internet connections to support AI services.

Kirill Eves, the founder of the global payments company Unlimit, has committed $45 million to the project. This funding is intended to cover the first two years of development and provide an additional two years of operational runway.

The company stated that it currently has no external investors. Alongside the mainnet, Phase introduced Phase Proxy, a service designed to route web requests from AI agents through shared smartphone internet connections to bypass rate-limiting on websites.

In November, Phase plans to launch an AI computing service that will allow users to contribute their device's processing power. The platform aims to support local execution of open-weight AI models, noting that modern smartphones can reach 35–45 TOPS.

Future development plans include creating proprietary AI models and expanding support to desktops, servers, and GPUs. Revenue generated from these services will be used to purchase PHASE tokens on the open market to reward node operators.
