Peugeot recently unveiled the E-T16 concept in Paris, a vehicle designed to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the brand's 1985 and 1986 WRC championship victories. The company suggests that the model could reach production, as it is built on the modular STLA One platform introduced by Stellantis earlier this year.
The concept features a tri-motor powertrain with two motors on the rear axle and one at the front. This configuration delivers a combined 805 horsepower, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. CEO Alain Favey confirmed that these performance figures are technically feasible for a production version.
The E-T16 utilizes components from the new e-208 model, which simplifies the manufacturing process. According to Favey, the car could potentially enter production as early as next year. If released, the vehicle would serve as a high-performance halo model for the brand's current lineup.
While the production version would likely be limited in volume and carry a high price tag, Peugeot is considering the potential for more accessible variants. A lower-powered version with 400 horsepower could serve as a competitor to models like the Audi RS3 and Mercedes-AMG A 45 S.
