K2 Cyber Security engineers conducted functional and stress testing of the Kaspersky NGFW version 1.3. The tests involved two hardware models: KX-100-KB1 and KX-400, utilizing a dedicated test bench with Cisco TRex traffic generators and VMware ESXi virtualization.

The performance evaluation used the EMIX traffic profile with a packet loss threshold of 0.5%. Testing covered three security modes: L4 FW with AppControl, L4 FW with AppControl plus IDPS, and the full stack including antivirus. The team also assessed the impact of security policies ranging from 1 to 10,000 rules.

Model KX-100-KB1 reached 10 Gbit/s in the basic L4 FW and AppControl mode. The KX-400 model achieved 40 Gbit/s in the base mode, 16 Gbit/s with IDPS enabled, and 11.4 Gbit/s when the streaming antivirus was added, demonstrating stability under heavy load.

Functional testing focused on network capabilities including static and dynamic routing, VRF, and VLAN support. The team verified HA-cluster operations in Active-Active and Active-Passive modes, AD/RADIUS integration, and monitoring features such as SNMP and API-based automation.
