Palantir stated that neither the company nor the US government possesses a remote kill switch for the Maven AI system. According to Louis Mosley, head of Palantir's UK and European divisions, clients retain full control over the software and can operate it independently of the developer.
The deployment of Palantir personnel to manage the system is also at the client's discretion. If company staff are involved, they must hold citizenship of the respective country and possess the necessary security clearances to handle sensitive data.
Maven integrates data from satellites, radars, and various sensors to assist in decision-making processes. Despite its capabilities, European nations are actively seeking to reduce reliance on US technology for critical infrastructure.
Germany and France have not adopted Maven for their armed forces. Thomas Daum, head of the German military cyber command, cited concerns over private company access to national databases. Meanwhile, French intelligence is transitioning to software from the local firm ChapsVision.
