Osprey Charging has introduced its new Autocharge service, branded as Osprey Go, across its network in the United Kingdom. The system allows drivers to initiate charging sessions automatically upon plugging in their vehicles, eliminating the need for physical payment cards or mobile applications.

To activate the service, users must complete two charging sessions at Osprey locations using the company's mobile app. The technology is currently compatible with vehicles equipped with CCS connectors, though the company noted that support is not universal for all electric vehicle models.

The feature was developed internally using the proprietary Osprey Iris software platform. The company conducted extensive trials with a beta group of drivers before the official rollout. Additionally, Osprey is implementing dynamic pricing across its network this month, offering lower tariffs for off-peak charging.

While Osprey Go provides a user experience similar to the ISO 15118-based Plug & Charge standard, it operates differently by requiring vehicle registration directly with the network operator. Osprey confirmed it is currently exploring the implementation of Plug & Charge for future use.
