Optivolt, a San Francisco-based power electronics company, has secured $32 million in a Series A funding round led by VXI Capital. Other participants included RA Capital, Valo Ventures, and Atlas Innovate. This latest investment brings the firm's total capital raised to $42 million.

The company has developed the Power Balancer, an integrated system that embeds power electronics directly into solar panels. This technology manages energy distribution among cell groups in real time to mitigate losses caused by shade, dirt, and uneven degradation. The hardware operates at 99.4 percent conversion efficiency.

Optivolt has already shipped over 20,000 units incorporating its Power Balancer technology. The new funding will be used to scale manufacturing operations and expand the reach of its products across various sectors, ranging from residential installations to utility-scale projects intended for AI data centers.

The company holds 19 issued patents and has 27 additional applications pending. Its technology has received UL certifications covering integrated junction-box enclosures and safety systems. The architecture aims to replace conventional bypass diodes and eliminate the need for separate module-level optimizers or microinverters.
