OpenAI introduced shareable user profiles for ChatGPT during the DevDay 2026 event on September 29. These profiles include activity metrics such as message counts, token usage for Work and Codex, and usage streaks.

The new profile interface features a Top Plugins section to display frequently used tools and a Showcase area. Users can pin up to 12 web properties, known as Sites, which are created directly within the ChatGPT platform.

Personal profiles are set to private by default, requiring manual activation for public visibility. In contrast, business workspace profiles are public by default, with administrative control over visibility settings.

OpenAI also updated Sites to support embedded plugins and per-user permissions, allowing multiple individuals to interact with a single app while using their own accounts. New plugin types, including sidebar apps and file viewers, were also announced.

The profile features are available across all subscription tiers, including Free, Go, and Plus. While standard profiles are currently live, the company confirmed that support for Enterprise-level accounts will be added in the future.
