OpenAI has officially launched GPT-6.1 Sol, a new model tier now accessible via the OpenAI API under the identifier gpt-6.1-sol. The model is also available for users within ChatGPT Work and Codex platforms.
The pricing structure for GPT-6.1 Sol is set at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. Cached input tokens are priced at $0.10 per million, representing 5% of the standard uncached input rate.
The company currently maintains three tiers in the GPT-6 line: Astra, Sol, and Luna. GPT-6 Astra costs $10 for input and $50 for output, while the entry-level GPT-6 Luna is priced at $0.10 for input and $0.50 for output.
OpenAI intends to introduce a GPT-6.1 Sol Ultrafast version within the Codex platform in the coming days. This variant is expected to deliver token generation speeds up to 8 times faster than the standard model configuration.
