OpenAI has updated its voice mode to include three new models: GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6 Sol, and GPT-6 Luna. Astra is positioned for complex reasoning and coding, while Sol and Luna serve as faster, more cost-effective alternatives for daily tasks.
The company introduced a 50% reduction in API pricing for the Sol and Luna models. Sol is now priced at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, while Luna costs $0.10 per million input tokens and $0.50 per million output tokens.
Plugin support has been expanded across all user tiers, including free accounts. The updated architecture now allows for multi-account connectivity, enabling users to switch between various third-party services during voice sessions.
Access to these features is available globally through the latest version of the application. Additionally, the lightweight Luna model is now accessible to Free and Go tier users via the desktop application, which gained GPT-Live support in July 2026.
