OpenAI has updated its ChatGPT Voice mode, allowing users to select specific models and adjust reasoning depth. Pro subscribers now have access to the GPT-5.6 Sol and GPT-6 Astra models, which the system automatically triggers for complex reasoning or web searches.
The company has also revised the daily usage limits for GPT-Live. The Go tier now includes up to 3 hours of GPT-Live-1 mini usage, while the Pro tier, priced at $100 per month, offers 15 hours of GPT-Live-1 access.
With these changes, OpenAI has discontinued the previous Instant, Medium, and High voice intelligence tiers. Additionally, Plus and Pro users will no longer be downgraded to the GPT-Live mini model once their primary voice usage limits are exhausted.
