OpenAI announced over 20 new products and updates at its annual DevDay conference on September 29. Key releases include Dots, a new AI agent system, the GPT-6.1 Sol model, and updates to the Codex and Agents API platforms. The company reported that its weekly active user base for ChatGPT has reached 1.2 billion people.

Dots are AI agents powered by GPT-6 Astra designed for long-term tasks. Each agent operates with its own cloud computer and browser, capable of connecting to over 4,000 applications via plugins. Users can interact with Dots through ChatGPT, Slack, and Microsoft Teams. The feature is currently available for Pro and Business Premium users, with a beta version for Enterprise, Edu, and Healthcare.

The GPT-6.1 Sol model is optimized for programming and professional tasks. Its API pricing is $2 per 1 million input tokens and $10 per 1 million output tokens. In the DeepSWE v1.1 benchmark, Sol matched Astra's performance at approximately one-fifth of the cost. OpenAI also introduced ChatGPT Space and Pages for collaborative work, alongside new security and management tools for Codex.

The Agents API now supports computer control, multi-agent workflows, and automated context compression. Additionally, OpenAI launched the Decisions API for specific classification and routing tasks. Reports indicate that the company is currently in discussions to raise $30 billion at a valuation of $1.4 trillion, though these figures remain subject to ongoing negotiations.
